Hushpuppi’s cybercrimes have touched on several countries as, until his arrest, wanted in Europe, Nigeria and in the United States. He reportedly conned his victims a total of $24 million. Some of them include banks, law firms and an unnamed Premier League club was on his hit list.
Whilst Hushpuppi’s net worth in 2022 is estimated to be $35.5 million, his sources of income remain questionable. Hushpuppi pleaded guilty to charges of money laundering amongst other cybercrimes. The FBI reported that his luxurious lifestyle is funded by stolen money.
Hushpuppi’s sentence was postponed to July 2022 after a request from his lawyer Louis Shapiro to a California court where his trial has been going on since May 2021. That said, Hushpuppi risks a 20-year prison sentence in a US jail, a fine of $500,000 and a three-year period of supervised release.
Hushpuppi originally comes from Lagos where he was born and bred.
Hushpuppi owns two Rolls Royce’s. The 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan is estimated to cost $320,000 and his black bespoke Badge Rolls Royce Wraith is valued at 137 million nairas.
A Chicago based lawyer Gal Pissetzky denied allegations that Hushpuppi was released from custody. He explained that his papers only read “release” as he was being transferred from Illinois to California where his trial is taking place.
Hushpuppi was born in Ikorodu, Lagos which means that his state of origin is Lagos.
