Davido Is The First Nigerian To Win A SAMA Award

Davido has made history by becoming the first Nigerian  artist to win a SAMA at the SAMA 26. The Fall hitmarker won under the Rest of Africa category for his, "A Good Time"  album in the award ceremony that was held virtually this year due to Covid-19

A Davido Stan account could not contain it's excitement and posted a tweet with a video that announced Davido had won.

Davido's A Good Time album was released last year to much critically acclaim and received rave reviews from critics and fans. The album carries the smash hit Fall which appeared in many charts and was played on radio stations across Africa and the world. 

The single Fall has received over 40 million streams on Spotify making it one of the most streamed singles from an African artist. The song was also certified gold by the Record Industry Association of America and Canada. Other songs that are featured in the album are If, Blow My Mind and Risky

This year the SAMAs are being presented over five nights starting on the 3rd of August to the 7th of August. Each episode is thirty minutes and will feature different categories. The finale on the 7th is said will be a 45 minutes long episode.
