Rumours have been been spreading like wildfire on social media after famed Nigerian music video director Clarence Peters was detained in connection for the death of video vixen Picture Kodak, also known as Love Divine...

Kodak died last week after she reportedly was electrocuted whilst charging her cellphone at Clarence's home in Omole estate in Ojodu.

But according to reports, there is more to the story than what meets the eye and police have confirmed that Clarence - who has directed big budget videos for artists such as Wizkid, Durella and others -  is being questioned and possibly investigated for murder.

An autopsy is also being conducted.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Bala Elkana told The Gaurdian; “It is a full investigation. We are probably looking at murder. We are not concluding at this stage. If she died of electrocution according to reports, it is left for us to find out. Was she actually electrocuted? What went wrong? An autopsy will also show."

However a crew member who was reportedly present at the time of Kodak's death has thrown a spanner in the works when he released a statement which leaked on Twitter.

According to the person known as 'Melvn', the incident occurred in the studio and not in Clarence's home.  He also denied that Clarence was even present during the incident.

Melvn then claimed that Kodak - who was damp with perspiration - attempted to charge her phone at an extension box that carried a high voltage, against the safety warnings of others. After hearing a loud bang, her colleagues reportedly found her with her cellphone on her chest, confirming she had been electrocuted. They then tried to revive her and subsequently called for help.
