A former manager of D'banj has added a spanner in the works after he seemingly backed the superstar's alleged rape victim Seyitan Babatayo's version of events....
Franklin claims he invited Seyitan to the party and gave her the key to his hotel room to use thereafter, as he was travelling home earlier than expected. He claims when he arrived home, he received a call from her claiming that she was raped by D'banj, who gained entry into her hotel room whilst she was still asleep.
Franklin then contacted two of D'banj's friends who corroborated her version of events, but also claimed that they gave her $100.
The former manager claims he never approached the singer about the allegations as firstly; Seyitan did not want it to be public knowledge (at the time) and secondly; D'banj and his wife Lineo were on a 'healing trip' following the death of their son and he didn't want to appear 'insensitive'.
Fast forward to recent weeks and the Franklin claims he can't remain silent any longer; "It became imperative to narrate my own side of the story", he added.
He also disputed claims the was the 'mastermind' behind the plot to frame the singer and that he as involved in 'arranging girls for artists'.
He now reveals he's being harassed in the wake of events and wants the whole thing to be over.
He continued; "I've been harassed, scrutinised and invited several times by the police. My wife and young kids have known no sleep for the past three weeks due to this unwholesome situation. It has put a strain on my mental health, physical, financial and general well-being of my family,"
