Toke Makinwa celebrated her two nods at the NET virtual award show this past weekend with a touching post celebrating 10 years since she became that girl on radio. Nigeria’s Entertainment Today’s virtual award show took place this past Saturday, and Toke Makinwa was voted that girl twice over based on verified audience data.

In her acceptance speech post she explained why the awards meant so much to her, as she celebrated ten years in the game at the beginning of the month and the wins validating her relevancy and staying power.

Toke's post  reveals that when the year began she experienced “major anxiety attacks, so many times it felt like I was drowning.” Moreover, she then threw in a humble brag by writing, “I have recorded increase even in a time of economic uncertainty,” meaning that her bag is laid for the rest of the year.
