During this period of social unrest in the country, all eyes are on celebrities and public profiles on how they are each playing a part in the common mission to put an end to police brutality as well as the corrupt and violent unit.
But for some stars like Bobrisky who vowed never to engage in a street protests, they can never do anything right and despite their calls for action have been put on blast from critical fans and followers.
Influencer and media personality Toke has also faced backlash from critical tweeps, with some accusing her of using the protest as a PR stunt for her social media...
One particularly disgruntled tweep wrote; "Toke Makinwa and her group of friends attended today’s protest to snap photos, show off designer outfits, make snaps with red cup and go home. My IG timeline is annoying rn".

But Toke was not in the mood to be dragged and clapped hard at the tweep...
She responded; "God will punish you for this tweet, I don’t owe anyone anything but FYI, I resumed at the protest at past 10am, skipped work to walk from the toll gate to Onikan, you won’t make this protest about me".

Celebs are not the cause of your frustration please
She came out and that counts..
You could have worn your own designers too
But why?? Why do you have to make it about her? Should she have come naked or in rags? Would that have mad you happy? Focus on the focus abeg.

How dare she wear designer outfits when she could have worn rags to soothe your envious soul...how dare she?

Please, we need to stay focused! We can’t afford to build divisions over inconsequential things. We know who our real enemies are and they aren’t celebrities with designer fits & red cups. Let’s not begin to sound like those we’re protesting against!

At least she came out to protest...the same cannot be said for all celebs!
