The Nigerian police force arrested musician Lhil frosh on the 4th of February over allegations of battering his ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Gift.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun of the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba on Tuesday, January 8, ordered the remand of singer Lilfrosh at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault punishable under Section 173 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State 2015. The case was adjourned to March 9, 2021, for mention.

Nigerians on social media shared their thoughts on his arrest:

The only hit he gave us is to hit a woman ... so he should explain the lyrics at the police station

Some people comment dey very embarrassing Sha.….. omo this is well deserving, no cap!!!! At least we'd learn to control the anger and avoid physical abuse

Our actions can either be our upliftment or downfall, I hope he learns from this. It is well.

The pair were in a relationship last year, and unknown to the rest of the world, the Lhil Frosh was physically abusing her. The news broke in October 2020, when Gift’s manager, Micheal shared pictures of her swollen face after the singer had hit her again.
She also produced pictures of his death threats to her friend whom he said disrespected him.

Lhil Frosh was formerly signed to Davido’s record label DMW. Following the allegation of assault, the label terminated their contract with him.
After the incident, he apologised on his page, but fans were not buying it.

Before his arrest and remand, he was promoting his latest single Omo Ologo, featuring Zinoleesky. His IG page was filled with reposts of the Omo ologo challenge entries from his fans across the world.

On Twitter, tweeters had a lot to say about his remand:

‘Lil frosh went from dropping bars to behind bars all because of a wrong hit’

‘Lil frosh sent to jail! Wow, No matter what, in this life, never raise your hand to beat women, my dad told me that. If they provoke you. My Bros go a bar to unwind your stress with chill Coke or Pepsi! Every woman has their own demon, learn how to respect them or let go.’
A user was dissatisfied with the way a politician’s case of assault was handled, being that he was cut physically assaulting a woman on camera:

‘Lil Frosh has been remanded in Ikoyi Prison till March 2021, Senator Elisha Abbo never stepped foot in prison while his case lasted, wow.’
After the case of Lil Frosh and his girlfriend, another social media influencer reached out to news sites this year to save her from her boyfriend.
Mimi Parkson released disturbing pictures of the injuries her boyfriend inflicted on her after an argument. She tweeted that it was not his first time beating her up, and he was now threatening to harm her for exposing him.

She also posted a snapshot of a chat they had where he told her outrightly that he would kill her for exposing him on social media.
As with Gift, when asked why she didn’t leave the abusive relationship earlier, she responded that she hoped her boyfriend would change.

His social media accounts are presently being managed by his management.
