There's no disputing that our favorite stars significantly impact fashion and style trends, and whether they're attending red carpet events, brunching with friends, or striking a pose for their Instagram feeds, these stars are without a doubt South Africa's fashion icons.

Although most celebrities can afford an entire style team, a few famous faces stand out when it comes to pushing boundaries in fashion and personal style, which can only come from a mixture of self-confidence and a good eye for styling.

We've compiled a list of some of our favorite South African celebrities when it comes to style and fashion.

Bonang Matheba

The Queen herself, Bonang Dorothy Matheba, is at the top of the list! The media mogul has made a name for herself not only in South Africa, but also across the continent and beyond. Bonang made her debut in the spotlight in 2002 and has been steadily rising since then. She has appeared on international stages, graced the cover of Forbes Woman Africa, served as the first global ambassador for Revlon, received numerous awards, and accomplished much more. When it comes to fashion, the TV host, radio host, businesswoman, producer, model, and philanthropist never misses a beat. Bonang has trended for her fabulous gowns and outfits on several occasions, and she once broke the internet when she hit the streets of New York in a R79,000/- Bottega Veneta dress. It was definitely a sight to see!.

Rich Mnisi

The budding, successful designer and CEO of OATH Studio had to be included on this list. Rich Fumani Mnisi is a walking brand, and in 2014, he launched his own clothing line. His designs are frequently worn by celebrities, and he has appeared in a variety of local and international publications, including ELLE Magazine, Marie Claire, Vogue (Russia & China), Fashion Glossary UK, Mail and Guardian, and Sunday Times, to name a few. With his daring out-of-the-box looks, the style icon frequently leaves fans and haters alike speechless, and we adore him for it. We can only anticipate so much from the designer.

Thick Leeyonce

Lesego Legobane aka Thick Leeyonce is a blogger, entrepreneur, and photographer and t his plus-size fashionista never ceases to amaze us with her style. The body positivity advocate rose to prominence a few years ago after defending herself against online harassment. This gained her a lot of attention, and her love for her body and fashion inspired her to launch a clothing line specifically for plus-sized women.

Mihlali Ndamase

We can't talk about fashion without acknowledging Mihlali Ndamase, our favorite beauty and lifestyle content creator. For as long as we can remember, the young YouTuber has been breaking the internet with her iconic, colorful, and elegant outfits. All we can say is that you should follow her on Instagram for all of your fashion inspiration.

We hope you have been motivated by these fashion icons who keep true to themselves through their awesome personal style.
