Last weekend, major newspapers carried the news of a fatal accident that had occurred at about 11.50 am, at Atoyo inbound Ogbere, along Ijebu Ode/Benin Expressway in Ogun State.

A bus carrying passengers had disobeyed road safety officers’ measures to divert traffic after an oil tanker leaked black oil on a long stretch of the express. In a bid to not get caught, the bus driver sped along the slippery road, lost control and veered off into the bush. As a result, the bus caught fire. Four people in the bus were burnt to death and 10 people escaped with bodily injuries.
What the world did not know, however, was that Emem Ufot was one of the passengers in that vehicle that escaped. He came on Instagram to thank God for saving his life and giving him a second chance at life, while also showing graphic images of the extent of the accident.

A few hours later he uploaded a video appreciating their good wishes still obviously shaken from the incident.

‘Good morning everyone, I came here to say thank you, to say God bless you, and to say God is not finished with you. I’m still a bit numb and speechless from the incident, but I have to do this video so that people will know that our God lives. Thank you again, God bless you, everyone, the amount of love and prayers that I have seen makes me know how important I am, and I will not take it for granted. Thank you so much, thank you so much, God bless you. And may the souls of the departed rest in peace. I’m okay folks, I hope to see you back on your screens’.

Complimentary messages filled his page, from his fans and colleagues.
