Nigerian Reggae/ Dancehall artiste African China shared videos of his building undergoing completion in an Instagram post.
He captioned it ‘Oya tap from my grace and stop hating. Men are  not smiling.’
The slides in the post, show different stages of completion of the compound and the house itself. The compound has two storey-buildings with a number of units.

Congratulatory messages have poured in on his page.

African China 'Chinagorom Onuoha' is a singer who channelled his activism for good governance through his songs. His song  ‘Mr President’ which was released in 2006 remains a strong message about the plight of Nigerians.

According to an interview he granted early in his career, his name came from his classmates in school who thought he looked like a Chinese boy. When he decided to go into music, he did not want to be identified with the name, China alone, because he did not come from any of the Asian countries, rather he desired to make his name sound more African than Asian, because of the fact that he is a black man.

African China started his music career in 1985 at the age of seven. He wrote his first song titled Am in Luv with You when he got into secondary school in 1990. In 1996, at the age of 18, he completed secondary school and pursued music professionally.
Things did not become rosy immediately: after his senior secondary certificate examinations, he worked at the Nigeria Ports Authority as a labourer, carrying bags of rice and ice fish to eke out a living.

He received his first award at the Nigerian International Song Festival before releasing his debut album “Crisis “. This album later Best Reggae/ Reggae dancehall at the Fanta Fame Musical Award, 2003 merit award, Unification Peace Award from the OPC, and the 1st edition of Nigerian Entertainment Award.

He has four albums to his credit. His first album Mr President is a 9-track project released in 2006. The second Crisis is an 11-track project and was released in 2007.  The third album Return of the Legend has 12 tracks and was released in 2009. His fourth musical project, Sweet Mama has 11 songs and was released in 2018.  He also released a compilation of his songs titled Letter to Mr President Volume 1 and 2 in 2018.

He has featured in a few Nollywood movies: Femi Ogedemgbe’s film “Ghetto life” and “Onochie produced by the Aneke Twins.

He joins the latest celebrity landlords who have shared their upgrade with the world. Last week it was Sola who shared pictures of her house warming, which was attended by the cream of the Yoruba movie industry.

In 2006, African china was involved in a rape scandal which got him imprisoned in the UK, but he won the case in court and was immediately absolved of all charges.

In an interview he granted a while ago, he spoke about having many children because he enjoyed sex; his stardom attracted many women to him, so he found it difficult to turn down their advances and chase them away. He stated that the reason he had so many children was that he had an option of telling the ladies to abort the pregnancies but he knew the Bible was against it.

It's okay to call African China Baba Landlord, but we might not be able to share the money with him.
