David Adedeji Adeleke, best known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born in the United States. Davido was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He debuted in the music industry as a member of the KB International group.

His track "Dami Duro," released in 2011, was well-received in Nigeria. Davido co-owns HKN Music with his elder brother Adewale Adeleke (a record label that houses Sina Rambo, B. Red, and DeeKay), which he subsequently quit to start his own record label DMW.

The singer attended British International School in Lagos before enrolling at Oakwood University to study Business Administration, which he subsequently left out of to focus on music. He eventually returned to school and received a degree in Music from Babcock University in Nigeria.
