Davido ran away from Nigeria

Davido may not have had a difficult childhood. His father, a Nigerian billionaire, first paid for his studies in Alabama before dropping out and becoming the only music graduate from Adeleke University, which his father owns.

However, he has become increasingly involved in the hardships of the common Nigerian. After the murder of George Floyd garnered worldwide exposure and was caught up in the End Sars movement in Nigeria, his hit song "Fem" took on new significance.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a force renowned for unlawful stop and searches, arrests without warrants, and extortion of young guys, was disbanded as part of the anti-police brutality movement.

Speaking to Trevor Noah on the Daily Show, he stated that he had to escape Nigeria after he led a protest against political injustices.

"It's incredible how I recognized my voice as an instrument for people," Davido stated. I got myself into a lot of problems and had no choice but to flee the country." After the song that had become an anthem for his detractors became the End Sars soundtrack in October, the singer joined protesters in Abuja, where police deployed tear gas and rubber bullets on the demonstrators.

"They listened, they heard us they may not have made any changes, but they were shaken. Things are going to change because I see a lot of young future leaders coming up." he claimed.

Pastor prophesying that Davido will be poisoned

According to the preacher, one of the people in the Jowo hitmaker's house would poison him soon.

The preacher is seen in the video declaring that Davido will be hospitalized and unconscious as a result of the incident. He goes on to suggest that Davido's drink will be poisoned.

"I'm going to tell you about a singer named Davido, abi?" They're going to poison him. I've never seen him before and don't know who he is. They will, however, put something in his drink. He'll be hurried to the hospital, admitted, and rendered comatose," the pastor predicts.

The pastor, who has yet to be recognized, also said that he has been fighting Davido's tragedy in the spiritual sphere, but that God has decreed that it will happen.

Davido becomes Africa’s most followed artist on Instagram

In June 2021, the star became the most followed artist on Instagram after garnering more than 20 million followers, he currently sits at 21.9 million followers.

In addition, Davido's hit song "Fall" became the first Nigerian music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube in 2017, and the country's first music video to reach 200 million views in 2021.

This isn't the first time the performer has achieved a million, two million, five million, ten million, and fifteen million followers on the same social media network.

Davido loses close friend

On Tuesday, June 29, Obama DMW died in a hospital in Lekki, Lagos state, of suspected heart failure.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, the music sensation conveyed his anguish for the death of one of his close associates in a lengthy Instagram post.

"This is by far the hardest thing I’ve had to write. I am hurt, broken, sad, and lost. For the first time in my life, I am EXTREMELY confused. The pain is one I cannot explain. 44 was more than an elder brother to me, he was a protector," Read the post in part.

Davido also, in an unfortunate turn of events, received a lot of heat for the death of his three close associates in the span of three days.
