The silhouette challenge has got many people talking from many standpoints. The religious, the moral, and the social stand. It remains on the trend table due to the number of times it has been mentioned.

Gospel minister Mercy Chinwo made a statement about the trending challenge making waves. In her post on Instagram, she asked ladies to not devalue themselves in a bid to be seen as part of the happening crowd.

Mercy Chinwo has been fully devoted to spreading the gospel of Christ since she left the secular scene a few years ago. Recall that she was the winner of Nigerian Idol season 2 in 2012. She has two albums to her credit and is presently promoting her second- SATISFIED, 

Pastor Adeboye also spoke to the people watching the videos and mentioned that it reduces their strength when they expose themselves to challenges that quench their spirit.
You think that you can view a few pictures or videos on social media where someone is almost nude and it is okay.
you are quenching the Spirit. That little window you give to indulge the flesh will strengthen it such that you would find yourself going back to those pictures/videos after that time. The Bible is very clear – don’t ever do anything that will quench the Spirit. Never!

On the other hand, more people have asked that religious leaders and devotees stop telling them what to do, as they are not the owners of anybody.

Somewhere in Lagos, a lady set up her front camera and tried to record her silhouette challenge. As soon as she climbed the chair and raised her hands, they caught the rotating fan. This discouraged her from going ahead with the challenge.


Nollywood actress Nazo Ekezie had a live video and spoke about the importance of letting people do whatever they want to do. She added that she was thinking about joining the challenge too.

Journalist Kemi Olunloyo also tweeted about the challenge, stating that the consequences in the future could be damning:

If there is a challenge on Twitter, don’t touch it! Don’t expose yourself to artificial intelligence & profiling. Don’t ruin your future getting jobs, opportunities, visas etc. I warned about the #10yearchallenge now you are falling for the #sillhouettechallenge
#silhouettechallange is an attempt to know who is doing what especially young childbearing females. In a time when the world population is decreasing drastically due to a pandemic, U are displaying more of yourself making yourself eligible for gender elimination.

Like the other challenges that came before, this one will fade soon. However unlike the other challenges, the line between 'just enough' and 'too much' appears to have blurred, hence the unending conversations about it.
