Wande Coal is a Yoruba singer and song writer who's considered to be one of the greatest artists in Nigeria.

His real name is Oluwtobi Wander Ojosipe, but he is popularly known by his stage name as Wande Coal. 

Having found his passion in music at aa very young age, Wande Coal had donne nothing but deleiver great hit after great hit.

Wande Coal Age

He was born on the 18th of October 1985. He is 35 years old.

Wande Coal Education

Wande Coal attended his primary school education at Staff Nursery and Ijaniki Primary School. 

He then had his secondary education at the Federal Government College Lagos. Wande Coal then enrolled at the University of Lagos (Unilag) where he majored in Curriculum Studies. 

Wande Coal Early Life

Wande Coal was born in Lagos Island. He is the son of Chief Ibukun Olufunto and Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe.

Wande Coal is the first born in a family of two and he has a brother named Towa Ojosipe.

Wande Coal Career

Wande Coal started his singing career as teenager in the local church choir church. In 2006, he got his big break in the entertainment industry as a dancer and he also got signed to Don Jazzy's Mo Hits Records.

He also had the opportunity to work with D'banj on singles such as "Loke", "Tonosibe" and "Why Me" from D'banj's Rundown/Funk You Up album.

Wande Coal released his first single "Ololufe", and this is the hit that has been classified as one of the best love songs written by a Nigerian. Wande Coal released his debut album "Mushin To Mo'Hits" and this album was well received not only in Nigeria but in the UK and the USA as well.

In 2012, Wande Coal signed on to Don Jazzy's new Record Label, Mavin Records along with other artists such as Tiwa Savage, Dr SID and D'Prince. Wade Coal however left Mavin Records in 2013 and in that same year he released the single "Baby Face".

Along with DJ Tunez, in 2016 Wande Coal released the great hit, "Iskaba" which was received well by many and soon became the go to song at all parties.

After he took a long hiatus from the music scene, he released "Turkey Nla" in December 2017.

In 2018, Wande Coal held the King Coal Concert. This was than just a concert as it was in celebration of Wande Coal's music and his rise to fame as well as the great hits he had delivered in his career.

He performed some of his great hits such as "So Mi So".

The concert featured other great artists including Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Falz, Phyno, Dammy Krane, Ycee, Teni the entertainer and L.A.X.

A member of the Board of Directors, BlueNote Entertainment, who organized the event, said,

“It was truly an honor to be able to put together and plan the first headline concert for King Coal in Lagos. We are very proud we lived up to the expectations of Wande Coal as regards his vision for the show by delivering a night of music bliss.”

In 2019, Wande Coal released his single
'Ode Lo Like,' which was his first song under Empire Distribution. Wande Coal announced in 2020, announced his signing to Empire which was part of a joint venture with Starstruck Management. In the same year he released an EP, titled "Realms".

Over the years, Wande Coal has received some awards for the great music that he keeps delivering to his fans.

Wande Coal Controversy

In 2013, Wande Coal released his hit, "Baby Face" which had so much controversy around it. Wande Coal said that Shizzi had produced the song for him, however, it seemed there were a few details that he had left out. 

Donny Jazzy actually went on twitter and accused Wande Coal of intellectual property theft. Apparently, the song had been recorded the previous year at Mavin Records and Donny Jazzy had the link to the studio demo.

However, Wande Coal refuted all those allegations by providing the li nk to the original studio version of the song. Entertainment lawyer said the song was the property of Mavin Records since it was produced, arranged and voiced by an official of the label. 

This led to Wande Coal leaving the record label and this is what made him and Don Jazzy not see eye to eye. 

So who caused the two to feud?

Reports claim that Tiwa Savage is the one responsible for Don Jazzy and Wande Coal having beef with each other. Tiwa Savage is the one said to have brought the song that Wande Coal released "Baby Face" to Don Jazzy's attention. She then prompted Don Jazzy to act and not let Wande Coal keep stealing from him.

With his success in the music industry, Wande Coal has seen his music gain him recognition not only in Nigeria but internationally as well.

He is estimated to be worth, $1.8 million and this has also come through the sales of music and concerts he usually hosts.
