Nigeria’s celebrities have mastered the art of multiple income streams.
From their chosen profession, be it singing or acting, then branching out to other ventures and those lucrative endorsement deals, they’re making it rain.
And it’s exciting to see that there are several female entertainers who are also making the big bucks.
See who cracked the nod as Naija’s wealthiest celebrities this past year.
Naija’s top musician is also the richest celebrity in the country, with Forbes magazine estimating his wealth at $20 million.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is signed to the EME record label, where his songs and music is raking in the money and topping the charts.
But he is also the owner and chairman of his own record label, Starboy Music.
And as an ambassador for Glo and Pepsi, Wizkid is living the high life. And that's before he struts his stuff on the runway at Milan Fashion Week alongside his friend Naomi Campbell, for Dolce and Gabbana.
He has a multi-million-dollar endorsement deal with MTN. And all this money helped his buy luxury properties in Surulere and Lekki. He also owns property in the US, and added a Porsche Panamera and a Lamborghini Prime to his impressive car collection.
The Nollywood actress, most popularly known for her role in Jenifa, is the top earning Yoruba actress in Nigeria.
With more than 50 acting credits to her name, she is a household name.
And her financial standing increased substantially when she was announced as the brand ambassador for irokotv.
Funke is also one of Naija’s richest Instagram stars, demanding more than $50 000 per post.
And with her husband JJC Skillz, the couple splurged on a new multi-million dollar mansion in Ibeju Lekki, a mansion which comes with a jacuzzi, multiple balconies and at least seven lounges. And she isn't shy to flaunt her label clothing and accessories like Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
Her net worth is estimated at more than $3 million.
One of the most exciting artists from the past ten years is Davido. Even though he was born into money (his father is the billionaire Deji Adeleke), he made his own money as an award-winning artist.
He is worth an estimated $16 million. Not only does he make his money from his music (his 30 billion dollar concert earned him N500 million), but he also has several businesses and investments.
And as an Instagram influencer, Davido can earn millions from just one post – this is also how he announced that he was having a baby boy with his fiancé, earning his unborn baby an endorsement deal and a paycheck.
He also owns two mansions in Nigeria, including in the exclusive neighbourhood Lekki, and a holiday house in Atlanta in the United States.
And he isn’t shy to spend the big bucks. He enjoys spoiling his loved ones with customised jewellery and super expensive watches, and travels by private plane.
And Davido has a fleet of luxury vehicles. By the time he turned 23-years-old, Davido already owned his eighth car, a luxury Audi. His car collection also includes a Porsche, Range Rover Sport and a Bentley.
The first lady of Mavin Records is also the wealthiest female musician in Nigeria.
Tiwa Savage is an award-winning artist, who also owns her own entertainment company, 323 Entertainment.
Her endorsement deals are worth millions of dollars and her net worth is estimated at more than $4 million.
And Tiwa is shy to spend what she works so hard for. Who can forget her multi-million dollar extravagant wedding in Dubai or her traditional wedding which cost N30 million to her now ex-husband Tunji Balogun. And then of course she also used her hard-earned cash to book out an entire cinema to celebrate her son’s birthday.
But she also takes the time to spoil herself – early in 2019 Tiwa flaunted her customised car on her social pages. But it was the Rolls Royce interior that’s the most exciting, with Tiwa’s name engraved on the seats, a flat screen TV, and even an impressive lighting system.
As the owner of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy has some of Naija’s biggest artists signed to his record label, including Tiwa Savage.
As a music producer, he charges upwards of N500 000 to produce music for an artist.
His estimated net worth is $10 million, which comes from his music career as well as his business investments, which includes several fuel tankers.
And he uses his money to splurge on his mansion and a fleet of luxury cars consisting of a Porsche Carrera, a Bentley and a Range Rover.
And then of course he also earns money from his endorsement deal with Ioya milk, which is worth millions.
The Nollywood actress’s net worth is estimated at $1 million.
Initially enrolled as a medicine student, Kate Henshaw’s breakout role came when she auditioned, and won the lead role in the movie When The Sun Sets.
She has more than 50 movie credits to her name and owns multiple buildings and properties across Nigeria.
Olamide is as much a rapper as he is a businessman, with his net worth estimated at $6 million.
With multiple businesses, Olamide is the owner of YBNL, owns two petrol stations and multiple properties around Nigeria, and has an endorsement deal with Ciroc.
And as musician, he also earns good money with his collaborations with other artists.
He owns multiple properties across Nigeria, and his impressive car collection includes a two Range Rovers and the ever-popular car with celebrities, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
